MONOCRYL™ Monofilament Suture, Undyed, 18", Size 4-0 is a synthetic absorbable suture composed of poliglecaprone 25, a copolymer of glycolide and e-caprolactone. Its monofilament construction provides a smooth surface that facilitates easy tissue passage, reducing drag and minimizing tissue trauma during suturing.

The suture exhibits low tissue reactivity and avoids the fraying issues commonly associated with natural sutures such as chromic gut. This property contributes to reduced inflammatory response and better healing outcomes. The monofilament strand maintains uniform tensile strength and eliminates capillarity, thereby minimizing the risk of bacterial migration along the suture line.

Typical applications include bladder repair, gastrointestinal surgeries, subcuticular skin closures, reproductive tract surgeries, and fascia closure in young, healthy, and fast-healing animals.
